RAMADAN 2018

A RAMADAN MESSAGE FROM MAHBOBA

It is heartbreaking to watch Afghanistan's people suffering at the hands of extreme poverty. Many families are so financially deficient that they are unable to feed their children, let alone provide them with a good education.

Last year, we saved many babies who would otherwise be sold to save their families from poverty. I never thought I would ever see Afghan people selling their loved ones.

This Ramadan, look into your hearts and make a generous tax deductible donation. Help us fight poverty and save more innocent babies this Ramadan.

MAKE A RAMADAN DONATION

Our projects in Afghanistan aim to provide women and children with the skills and education required to live a self-sufficient and self-sustaining life. Make a generous donation this Ramadan to support the lives of so many in need.

SPONSORSHIP PROGRAMS

In Afghanistan, there are many social barriers that prevent women and children from receiving an education. Sponsor an orphan or widow this Ramadan, and you will be playing a positive role in breaking down these barriers.

RAFIA’S STORY

Rafia is an eight-month old girl who was brought to the Badakhshan Hope House earlier this month. Rafia’s mother was tragically killed after her birth, leaving her father to look after her. However, Rafia’s father lost his legs in an accident some years ago, and is struggling to support his 7 children. Before Mahboba’s Promise stepped in, Rafia was almost sold to fund her father’s expensive medical treatment. This little girl requires urgent support, treatment and nourishment; such as milk, nappies and clothes, etc.
We would appreciate your help this Ramadan to support Rafia and her family.

WIDOWS RICE GIFT

Widows, who have lost the primary income provider for their family and are restricted from employment themselves, struggle to raise the money necessary to provide their families with the nutritious food they require. Our founder, Mahboba Rawi, has personally identified 500 widows who are in need. We aim to, with your help, provide each of these widows with at least one 25kg bag of rice.
By presenting a gift of one 25kg bag of rice to each widow this Ramadan, we will enable them to help their family satisfy their nutritional needs and directly combat poverty in the nation.

HELP BUILD WATER WELLS IN SAIGHAN DISTRICT

The district of Saighan is facing particular hardship as a result of one of the worst droughts Afghanistan has ever witnessed, with 3830 families out of 6000 are living without water. The proposed solution is to provide the residents of Saighan with clean drinking water and irrigation through the installation of water wells. Each well is expected to cost $10,000. This includes hiring equipment, materials, digging labour costs and transportation. Help Mahboba’s Promise build 10 wells for the people of Sayghan!
