Mahboba’s Promise

Philanthropy

Mahboba’s Promise would not be where it is today without the support and ambition of some of Australia’s kindest and extremely hard-working Philanthropists. Your significant contribution enables us to make a real difference in the lives of thousands of people affected by war and poverty.

Partner with us and watch positive change happen.

Our Relationship With You

As a highly valued supporter of our work, we will have a dedicated team member communicating with you throughout your journey with us.

We will send you regular updates, including the stories of the people you have helped to escape poverty in Afghanistan. You will have opportunities to attend our events, meet our staff and trustees, and become a part of our network of close friends.

Dick Smith

Dick Smith first met Mahboba at the Australian Governor General’s residence in 2009 and took a strong interest in getting involved in Mahboba’s Promise’s Projects. After careful planning, a Community Center in Panjshir Valley was built in 2011 providing residential facilities for the local community, as well as education and vocational training to the orphans of the neighbouring Hope House. Dick Smith generously donated $100,000 for the project, and has since contributed thousands of dollars towards several of our other projects, such us the construction of our Badakhshan Hope House. Mahboba’s Promise is sincerely grateful to have philanthropists, such as Dick, who make these life-changing projects possible.
