Landslide in Badakhshan uproots lives
On October 7, 2024, Badakhshan Province was struck by a devastating landslide triggered by recent severe floods causing the saturated ground to give way. This has created additional loss and destruction for countless families in the region, leaving them in desperation and despair.

Homes have been destroyed, lives have been lost, and entire communities now face the harsh realities of displacement, and an uncertain future.
Residents of Yawan note that 100s of other homes are also at serious risk of collapse. People have lost all their belongings in the tragedy and are reliant on the help of others to survive.
