A MESSAGE FROM MAHBOBA

Afghanistan needs our help now more than ever. 

With Afghanistan facing one of the worst droughts the country has ever seen, thousands of families are being deprived of adequate water supplies for farming and general livelihood.

I am pleading for your generosity at the end of this financial year. As you know, all donations are tax deductible. We have ambitious plans to build 10 deep water wells and need considerable funding to make this happen. Every modest dollar donated makes such a difference in Afghanistan. Our staff and operation costs are as low as we can make them. We are so lucky, as most of our staff members are volunteer students or retirees.

Water For Life

The district of Saighan is facing particular hardship as a result of one of the worst droughts Afghanistan has ever witnessed, with 3830 families out of 6000 are living without water. The proposed solution is to provide the residents of Saighan with clean drinking water and irrigation through the installation of water wells. Each well is expected to cost $10,000. This includes hiring equipment, materials, digging labour costs and transportation. Help Mahboba’s Promise build 10 wells for the people of Sayghan!

Help Masudah See

Thanks to the generous support from our donors, we were recently able to take Masudah to Kabul for corrective eye surgery. The operation was a huge success, with half of Masudah’s sight now restored. However, Masudah still requires surgery in her other eye.

This disadvantage hinders Masudah's ability to be educated, enter the workforce and escape the cycle of poverty.

Help us fund Masudah's corrective eye surgery by making a general donation to our End of Financial Year Appeal.
