Mahboba Rawi fled Afghanistan as a 13 year old, walking across the mountains to Pakistan to escape the Soviet soldiers looking for her. Two years later – in 1984 – she arrived in Australia, where she was safe, married and soon to give birth to a son. Then came an event, out of the blue, that would turn her life in Australia upside down, and draw her back to Afghanistan, to improve the lives of thousands of orphaned children. The year of that event? 1992. ABC RN’s Hugh Riminton finds out more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4o7-_GxiGo
