Ramadan and Eid Celebrations
We received an overwhelming amount of support this Ramadan. Generosity from hundreds of donors allowed us to expand our impact even further this Ramadan.
Eid is a special time of the year, but for orphan children, they don’t often experience the joys of the day. While other children are receiving new clothing from their parents (an Eid tradition), orphan children will likely not. That is why we are so thankful to our Ramadan donors who funded new tailored clothes for the Hope House children. The boys were gifted traditional perans and tunbans, while the girls were gifted beautiful dresses. Eid was a beautiful and colourful occasion for our Hope Houses, celebrating the end of Ramadan with a big feast. The joy of Eid lives on!
During the month of Ramadan, we distributed over 200 bags of rice to widows and their families! Each bag weighs 25kg and can feed a family of 10, twice a day, for a month. Widows were extremely grateful for the rice as it alleviates some of the financial pressure for the families, allowing children to have healthy diets and attend school during the day.
Extra funds from Ramadan are being utilized in a range of our projects around Afghanistan, helping make a lasting impact for years to come.
Thank you to all those that gave generously this Ramadan. Your ongoing support and contribution to our work makes progress in Afghanistan possible!
