Plagued with extreme and unforgiving weather, winter brings great suffering to disadvantaged Afghan communities.
Winters in Afghanistan are cruel. The average January temperature in Kabul is -1°C, and temperatures at higher altitudes are even more extreme, sometimes dropping to a startling -25°C. The country experiences frequent, sometimes heavy, snowfalls, which limit access to food markets and further endanger those with no access to warmth.
We urge you to think of the vulnerable this festive season and donate generously to provide them with much needed relief. With your support, Mahboba’s Promise aims to provide the impoverished communities with food, warm clothing, and firewood to help them survive the bitter winter months.
