emergency snow appeal
Heavy snow in badakhshan
Sharifullah, a staff member from Badakhshan Hope House, recently shared with us his hardships this winter.
Sharifullah’s home is in a remote village of Badakhshan, with residents travelling to neighboring villages to get clean drinking water. As Sharifullah is working in one of the Hope Houses, he has not see his wife Zakiya months as she is simply too hard to reach with the harsh Winter climate.
Zakiya and her daughter were trapped in their home for several days before Sharifullah was informed of their situation.
After hours of shoveling snow by hand, the home was finally freed.
However, there are still many homes in this village buried in several feet of snow.
Heavy snow in Badakhshan Province has disconnected a dozen of districts from the provincial capital, Faizabad.
Families in these remote areas rely on neighboring villages for fresh water and food.
Mahboba’s Promise is determined to assist these villagers by helping them dig their homes out from under the snow and provide them with emergency supplies.
Help us reach these rural communities.
