A RAMADAN MESSAGE FROM MAHBOBA
Assalam Allaikum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuh, Brothers and Sisters.
My recent three month trip to Afghanistan opened my eyes about long term effects of poverty. I knew that I would see children on the street who would plead with me for money and food, but I had to remind myself that I cannot possibly feed them all.
It is heartbreaking to watch people dying because they cannot afford to warm or feed themselves. And it was extremely difficult to pass them by; I still feel an overwhelming guilt.
Afghanistan is no longer in the spotlight, and my goal is to bring more of these desperate cases under the care of my organisation.
Australians, you are sooo lucky! I ask you to appreciate what you have and share it with the less fortunate.
This Ramadan, look into your hearts and make a generous tax deductible contribution to the unfortunate children and women in Afghanistan.
With God’s Blessings,
Mahboba Rawi, OAM

In Afghanistan the barriers to good care and education are immense. For a few dollars a month, you can change lives. Funds go to improving lives, education and training aimed at leading the recipients to sustainable livelihoods and independence.
Khatera is a special 10 year old girl. She has had more than her fair share of tragedy in her lifetime. She lost her father to cancer last year and has serious medical problems. Her head is bigger than normal and her eyesight is very weak.
Khatera is a lively and clever girl who is talkative and loves to draw. She has memorized three Suras of the Holy Quran. But she sometimes gets out of control and according to her mother, she needs a lot of special care and attention. Her mother is very poor but has to provide for her as well as six brothers and sisters.
Help make Ramadan special for children like Khatera and their families this Ramadan.
