Why is winter such a dangerous time for Afghan kids?
Freezing winters place an enormous strain on families already living on the edge. When parents already cannot afford fuel, warm clothing or nutritious food, children are left dangerously exposed to cold-related illnesses like pneumonia, and everyday survival becomes a daily struggle.
Ongoing conflict, displacement and economic hardship have further forced millions of Afghan families into fragile living conditions, with access to medical care and essential supplies becoming even more limited in winter.
