When Mahboba’s Promise first started working in Afghanistan, the needs of the widows and orphans were so basic that our work was mainly welfare oriented. Offering food, clothing and shelter to keep people alive was our primary goal.
While there are many widows and orphans who are still destitute in Afghanistan, the focus of our work has changed to address development projects that will be of long-term benefit.
Our projects are geared toward sustainability, and many that we’ve instigated are now running independently or with the help of Government. In this way, we can keep helping more people by starting new projects.
Education is at our core.
That’s why we work hard to provide children around Afghanistan with an education in an effort to transform their lives.
Poor healthcare contributes to upholding the cycle of poverty.
We work to provide the people of Afghanistan with life-saving services that will prevent curable illnesses.
We strengthen the future of impoverished youth and women by providing them with the tools and skills to build resilient and self-sufficient livelihoods.
Sponsorship is a rewarding and life-changing act, for both you and your recipient. You have the power to dramatically transform the lives of many people in need through a single sponsorship.
