PROJECTS
When Mahboba's Promise first started working in Afghanistan, the needs of the widows and orphans were so basic that our work was mainly welfare orientated. Offering food, clothing and shelter to keep people alive was our primary goal.
While there are many widows and orphans who are still destitute in Afghanistan, the focus of our work has changed to address development projects that will be of long term benefit. For example, we now offer vocational training to widows to ensure their success in the workforce.
Our projects are geared toward sustainability and many that we instigated are now running independently or with the help of Government. In this way we can keep starting more projects and helping more people.
