Good health supported at Hope House Health Centre

For a typical Afghan, healthcare is not a convenient visit away from their friendly doctor or dentist. Unfortunately, health conditions for many people in Afghanistan are not good. Current national nutrition data for Afghanistan shows 21 per cent of women are malnourished, and a huge number of children suffer from health problems because of drought and conflict.

When Mahboba’s Promise established it’s healthcare clinic at Hope House, it was an important part of Mahboba Rawi’s promise to try and improve the quality of life of children and women in Afghanistan.

Hope House proudly offers medical and dental care. Here’s the most recent report on the good work being done there:

·        Treatment of 215 people; 80% were Hope House students and 20% were the Hope Hope house staff, widows and people from the surrounding community.

·        Psychological treatment was also given to students who had psychological problems.

·        General mouth check up of all the Hope House students

·        Dental Filling: 43 Cases

·        Dental Pulling: 16 Cases

·        Dental Cleaning: 23 Cases

·        52 cases with general diseases were also treated.

Most importantly, children are given instructions regarding oral care and sanitation on a weekly basis by the dentist. As a result of regular medical check ups and health advice by doctors there is an improvement in the general well being and health of the children.
